I can explain.
It all started in a classroom in the late '80s. I was teaching a class in "real-world design" at my alma matter MICA and there was an unforgettable young woman in the class, Michelle was her name. Ten years later, I was interviewing for a Creative Director at my former company, Brook Group, and a woman named Michelle sent in a beautiful resume. When we met we realized that we had a previous connection, we were both MICA grads, and Michelle was the same unforgettable Michelle from my class (her name had changed). Within moments, she became the first and only Creative Director of Brook Group for years that followed. We had a set of twins together and when a third kid came along, Michelle retired from her role as Creative Director of Brook Group and moved to New York. Our friendship continues on and I do what I can to support Michelle in her social enterprise. The Food Project is her bootstrapped start-up and if you are inclined to support them, you can do it here with each bag of Seedy Nutty that you purchase. If you want to help in other ways, visit her site and reach out.
